Broward County lies on the southeastern side of sunny Florida, one of three counties that make up the famed Miami metropolitan area. When thinking of relocating your family to such an idyllic location, any Florida Realtor will tell you that one of the most important things to consider is the quality of the educational institutions in the area.

Fortunately, in Broward County, you’ll find some of the best private schools in Florida:

Pine Crest School
501 NE 62nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL

Situated in Pinecrest neighborhood, one of the more affluent addresses in Miami, Pine Crest School is undoubtedly the best choice among Broward County schools. According to current Niche.com rankings, Pine Crest School is the number one preparatory private school in the state of Florida. Serving students from pre-K through Grade 12, the school has a student population of nearly 2,700 students across grade levels, with a student-teacher ratio of 8 to 1.

The school has the main Mae McMillan Campus in Fort Lauderdale and the William J. McMillan Campus in Boca Raton. However, the Boca Raton campus only hosts students up to Grade 8. The Fort Lauderdale campus is much bigger, with various facilities providing students with an almost collegiate atmosphere.

American Heritage School
12200 W. Broward Boulevard, Plantation, FL

American Heritage School is a non-sectarian private school with two campuses, one in Plantation and one in Delray Beach. Both 40-acre campuses accept students from pre-K up to Grade 12 with a total population of 4,200 students, 2,800 of whom those students housed on the Plantation campus. Like most schools in South Florida, the student population is diverse, with a student body representing 50 countries across the world.

Both campuses boast facilities such as investigative science labs, media centers, mock courtrooms, outdoor classrooms, sports fields, and more. However, specific to the Plantation campus is the arts center, which holds an 800-seat main stage alongside multiple performance spaces. Additionally, the school has a superb athletics program that encompasses volleyball and golf, among other sports. Notably, the most famous alumni from American Heritage are professional baseball and football players.

NSU University School
3375 SW 75 Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL

Located on the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) campus, the NSU University School is an independent, private, college preparatory school that serves grades Pre-K through Grade 12. Commonly referred to as “University School” or “U-School,” the school is famed for their philosophy on “experiential learning,” a collaborative, hands-on approach that cultivates each student’s individual talents and strengths.

Most educators that teach on campus possess either a Masters or Doctorate degree, and the University School prides itself on its 100% college acceptance rate among students. With their progressive educational program that puts a focus on holistic, individualized learning, students are equipped with the necessary skills to help them thrive in college and beyond.
